Of all the muscles in the body the
diaphragm is maybe the most important in maintaining our health – yet
few people know what or where the diaphragm is!!! In this workshop we
will have some fun looking at where the diaphragm is, how it works to
keep us breathing and how it affects the whole of the rest of the body
in terms of posture, balance and movement quality. We will explore some
ways in which we can learn to breath more fully and more easily to
promote and maintain better health.
The diaphragm has a profound influence on the mechanics of the body
generally but also on the internal organs (lungs and heart above,
stomach, intestines, spleen, liver, gallbladder, kidneys and urinary
bladder below). For this reason it is a good idea to come to this
workshop if you want to come to the organ one (it is a good idea – but
you don’t have to!!!).

This is a taster workshop – there will be a further more in-depth
workshop on Breathing and the Diaphragm later in the program. The
workshop will be in the Autumn of 2006 – the date will be posted soon.
